Data and Analysis

Updated: Jul 16, 2022

Data

1. SQL Database

Azure SQL Database is a fully managed platform as a service (PaaS) relational database engine that handles most of the database management functions such as upgrading, patching, backups, and monitoring without user involvement.

2. Cosmos DB

Azure Cosmos DB is a fully managed NoSQL database service for modern app development

3. Cache for Redis

Use Azure Cache for Redis to accelerate your data layer through caching. Adding Azure Cache for Redis can increase data throughput by over 800 percent while increasing latency performance by over 1,000 percent1 at a cost-effective price. It’s a great way to efficiently scale applications and improve user experience without the expense of rearchitecting your underlying database.

4. Cognitive Search

Azure Cognitive Search is the only cloud search service with built-in AI capabilities that enrich all types of information to help you identify and explore relevant content at scale. Use cognitive skills for vision, language, and speech, or use custom machine learning models to uncover insights from all types of content. Azure Cognitive Search also offers semantic search capability, which uses advanced machine learning techniques to understand user intent and contextually rank the most relevant search results. Spend more time innovating and less time maintaining a complex cloud search solution.

5. Synapse Analytics

Azure Synapse Analytics is a limitless analytics service that brings together data integration, enterprise data warehousing, and big data analytics.

Analysis

1. HDInsight

HDInsight helps to manage your big data needs in an open-source platform

2. Machine Learning

Azure Machine Learning empowers data scientists and developers to build, deploy, and manage high-quality models faster and with confidence.

3. Stream Analytics

Azure Stream Analytics is a real-time analytics and complex event-processing engine that is designed to analyze and process high volumes of fast streaming data from multiple sources simultaneously. Patterns and relationships can be identified in information extracted from a number of input sources including devices, sensors, clickstreams, social media feeds, and applications. These patterns can be used to trigger actions and initiate workflows such as creating alerts, feeding information to a reporting tool, or storing transformed data for later use. Also, Stream Analytics is available on Azure IoT Edge runtime, enabling to process data on IoT devices.

4. Data Factory

Azure Data Factory is Azure's cloud Extract Transform and Load (ETL) service for scale-out serverless data integration and data transformation. It offers a code-free UI for intuitive authoring and single-pane-of-glass monitoring and management.

5. Databricks

Azure Databricks is a data analytics platform optimized for the Microsoft Azure cloud services platform. Azure Databricks offers three environments for developing data intensive applications: Databricks SQL, Databricks Data Science & Engineering, and Databricks Machine Learning.
